Red Hot Rice Krispies Treats

I love making Valentine themed desserts and for some reason Red Hots just scream Valentine's Day to me! I think it's mostly because they're red, but it works. I tried to find a recipe online for something like these treats, but there wasn't one so I made my own.

These Red Hot Rice Krispies treats are extra gooey, but they also have the perfect amount of cinnamon kick from the Red Hots. They are so addicting that I literally have no self control when they're around. They also turn a pretty shade of pink from the Red Hot dust so that's another win in my book. In other words, make these! They will change your life. ;)

Red Hot Rice Krispies Treats

1/4 cup unsalted butter

10 oz. mini marshmallows

5 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1/4 Red Hots (cinnamon flavored candies)

1. Grease a 9x13-inch pan and set aside.

2. Place Red Hots in a Ziploc bag, let out air and close bag. Smash Red Hots with a rolling pin or something heavy until coarsely crushed. (Holes may form in the bag so watch for that.)

2. In a large pan, melt butter and mini marshmallows on low heat, stirring constantly.

3. Once marshmallows are melted, stir in crushed Red Hots until combined.

4. Remove pan from heat and add Rice Krispies cereal, 2 cups at a time. Mix well until cereal is evenly coated. Pour into the greased pan and press down with a greased spatula.

5. Let cool and cut into squares to serve.
