Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream

I don't know what it is about this ice cream, but my husband and I were freaking out about it! It is rich, decadent and so delicious. Every time my youngest would have some, he would tip his bowl and drink any remnants he could get! This is so easy to throw in your ice cream maker and is the best summer treat. I promise you'll love it!

Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream

3/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 tsp. kosher salt

3 cups half and half, cold

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 cup Oreo cookies broken into large pieces, divided

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar and salt.

2. Pour in the half and half and whisk until the sugars have dissolved. Stir in the vanilla extract.

3. Turn on ice cream maker and pour mixture into the chilled insert. Churn for 20 minutes. Add 3/4 cup of Oreo cookie pieces in the last 3 minutes of churning.

4. Pour into a parchment paper lined bread pan or plastic container. Top evenly with remaining 1/4 cup Oreo cookie pieces. Cover and freeze for a few hours or overnight before serving.
