Salted Butterscotch Rice Krispies Treats

This is one of those recipes that is extra special and I've made it more times than I can count. It starts off with browned butter, lots of marshmallows, some salt, Rice Krispies and butterscotch chips. The combo of the ingredients pair so well together and they are easily my favorite treat. I got the recipe from Female Foodie, but cut the amounts in half so they're not as thick.
These are extra gooey and honestly make the best party treat. No one will be able to get over how good they are. And FYI, my husband who isn't a huge fan of butterscotch loves these.

Salted Butterscotch Rice Krispies Treats

6 Tbsp. butter
10 oz. mini marshmallows

1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1/4 heaping cup butterscotch chips

1. Spray a 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray and set aside.

2. Heat large skillet to medium-low heat. Add butter and carefully heat until foamy and brown specks appear on the bottom of the pan. Add marshmallows and continually stir until completely smooth. Stir in salt and remove from heat.

3. Stir in cereal 2 cups at a time until evenly coated. Add butterscotch chips and quickly stir until incorporated and pour into prepared pan. Press down with a greased spatula into an even layer.

4. Let cool and cut into squares before serving.
