Air Fryer Bacon

I really didn't think I would find another great way to cook bacon because I love cooking it in the oven, but once again, the air fryer has proved me wrong. I would have never thought of cooking bacon in an air fryer, but after a few people suggested it I decided to give it a try. It is honestly so good! It gets nice and crispy so much faster than in an oven and somehow the flavor is even better. My husband declared that it's the best bacon he's ever had!
This is the model I have and I love it. If you get a bigger one you'll be able to fit even more bacon inside, but you'll still need to do it in two batches if you want to use up a whole package. The most important thing is to not have the bacon overlap or even touch at all if you can avoid it. If the strips overlap, they don't cook as well. Also, I add about a tablespoon of water in the bottom of the basket because some people complained about it smoking. Just FYI!

Air Fryer Bacon
1 lb. package high-quality raw bacon

1. Pour 1 Tbsp. of water into the bottom of air fryer basket to prevent smoking.
2. Divide the bacon and lay 5-6 slices evenly in the air fryer basket. Try not to overlap slices so they will cook evenly.
3. Set the temperature to 400 degrees and cook for 5 minutes. Check to see how much it's cooked (Every air fryer cooks differently so you may have to adjust the time.) If needed, separate bacon slices if they get stuck together. Cook longer, 1 minute at a time, to get desired crispness.
4. Place cooked bacon on a paper towel-lined plate and carefully pour bacon grease into a small bowl lined with tinfoil for easy disposal. (The bacon grease will set up when it cools.)
5. Repeat steps 1-4 to cook rest of the bacon.
